Unified ID 2.0 (UID2) & Interest-Based Advertising

This website participates in Unified ID 2.0 (UID2), an open-source identity framework used for digital advertising. This section explains what that means for you and how to opt out.

What we collect and when

When you create an account, sign in, or complete a purchase, we use the email address you provide to generate a UID2 token. Your email address is hashed and encrypted in your own browser before it is sent to the UID2 service — we do not transmit your raw email address to the UID2 operator, and we do not store the UID2 token in our store’s database.

What a UID2 token is

A UID2 token is a pseudonymous identifier derived from your email address. It does not, by itself, reveal your email address or your identity. It allows advertising partners to recognize a consistent, privacy-preserving identifier instead of relying on third-party cookies.

How we use it

When you make a purchase, we send a conversion event — including the UID2 token, the order value, and the order reference — to our advertising measurement partners, including The Trade Desk. This lets us measure whether advertising led to a purchase. We do not sell your email address, and the UID2 token is not used to contact you.

Your choices

Participation is under your control. You can opt out at any time using the button below. Opting out stops this site from generating or sharing a UID2 token for you and clears any token stored in your browser. You can also opt out of UID2 across participating sites at Transparent Advertising, and you can clear your browser’s local storage at any time.
